Patience

  • Sometimes, the longest part is sitting through the event you are recording.

  • It takes time to download files from camera to computer

  • It takes time to edit the files

  • It takes time to convert the files

  • It takes time to upload your videos

Notes:

If you managed to stay awake through the meeting, you've already made it over one hurdle.

Transferring from camera to computer will take a few minutes.

Editing the files can take time. In general, I do not edit files under 1 hour in length. If I do need to break the files into smaller pieces, it requires watching the video and setting the breaks in where they do not harm the overall flow of the presentation. You can do this according to an agenda or set breaks as tension-builders to prompt viewer to continue to the next section. Where I must do breaks I try to keep them at approximately 30 minute intervals, but they can be more or less.

Converting and uploading simply require the computer to work. This is a great time to cook supper, read a book, or watch Rachel on MSNBC.
